Nicollate’s story of being an HCC caregiver in Kenya

Nicollate shares the heartbreaking story of her late brother Steve, who was diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) just two weeks before his passing at the age of 34. Despite early signs like yellowing eyes, Steve did not seek medical attention, which led to a late diagnosis. This experience highlights the silent progression of HCC and the urgent need for early hepatitis B testing and liver cancer surveillance.

Nicollate envisions a future with free hepatitis B testing, affordable treatments, and reduced stigma around the disease. She emphasizes the importance of prevention through regular checkups, a healthy lifestyle, and timely intervention. Her story is a call to action for awareness and proactive healthcare to save lives.
